Unique features of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite
- A network can be deployed using a Windows-server as well as a Unix-server – a feature unavailable in other anti-virus programs.
- Several servers of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite can be placed in a group with complex interaction structure between them.
- Several network protocols can be used simultaneously (TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBIOS) so an anti-virus network can be deployed in an existing network of any topology.
- Installation on an infected machine and high curing probability.
Dr.Web Enterprise Suite is a client-server software. Agents are installed on the protected workstations and the servers. Dr.Web Enterprise Suite server provides centralized administration of the anti-virus&anti-spam protection, including initial deployment, update of the virus databases and upgrade of the program modules of the anti-virus components, monitoring of the current state of the anti-virus protection, notification on viral incidents, and collection of statistics.
The installation of the anti-virus server and the deployment of the anti-virus network based on Dr.Web Enterprise Suite are easy and take a few minutes. The advantages of the Active Directory technology utilized by Windows-based servers can be used for the network deployment.
A connection between the anti-virus server and the agents is provided by TCP/IP and IPX/SPX/NetBIOS protocols and doesn't require the change of the original network structure.
The anti-virus network operation based on Dr.Web Enterprise Suite is highly transparent. The logs are kept for all the components of the network and their details level can be easily adjusted. Any operations with files made by the anti-virus network’s components are reflected in statistics. Administrator is notified about the network’s health issues, which are reported either to the administrator' console or e-mailed.
Dr.Web Enterprise Suite console is a visual configuration and management tool implemented as a unified graphical interface, available anywhere in the world and anytime to help you manage thousands of protected clients in geographically dispersed environment. It can be installed on any type of PC based on almost any operation system. Extremely intuitive but versatile interface provides a hierarchical “at-a-glance” view of your protected network allowing monitoring the network health real-time.
Dr.Web Enterprise Suite console helps administrators easily manage highly dynamic and complex environment, increase productivity while reducing administrator time and costs, automate tasks, perform daily routines in few minutes, without any extensive time commitments – view and set up key parameters of anti-virus servers and protected clients, reconfigure anti-virus settings and run separate jobs for several agents. Scanning’s scheduling and virus definitions database updates with Dr.Web Enterprise Suite console have never been easier.
Respond promptly to viral threats, block infected workstations, analyze sources of infection, adjust corporate security policy in the dynamic environment. Regular scan and update scheduling tools available in the administrator console make the anti-virus management extremely easy. Numerous means for collection and analysis of information deliver an overall picture of a network protection status so taking necessary actions by an administrator becomes a matter of seconds.
Any component of an anti-virus network can be configured using the Dr.Web Enterprise Suite console. Use the console to monitor status of anti-virus agents, create a schedule for a group of agents or for a server, view stats on the network for a particular period of time and import it to a file if necessary. The anti-virus console blurs out platform boundaries. Launch the administrator tool in Windows or MacOS and connect to an ES-server run in Linux.
The Dr.Web Enterprise Suite anti-virus server is installed on one of computers in a local network. It stores distribution of anti-virus packages for different operating systems, updates of the virus database, anti-virus packages and anti-virus agents, user keys and agent configuration files and sends them to correspondent agents upon request.
A platform-independent architecture of the server software allows utilizing both Windows and UNIX-based machines as servers – a feature unavailable in other anti-virus programs.
The updating of anti-virus agents, including updating of the virus database is totally managed by the Dr.Web Enterprise Suite Server; this allows substantial saving on bandwidth and does not require manual updating.
The anti-virus server keeps one log for all events in an anti-virus network and separate logs for each protected computer and other useful data, making use of both Dr.Web Enterprise Server databases – the inbuilt or the external one. The storage of anti-virus server data in one database and the option of the backup copy of the server critical data helps easily restore the anti-virus server in case its database was damaged or reinstall it to another computer.
Latest advances of Dr.Web anti-virus technology are implemented in agents: the anti-virus scanner, SpIDer Guard® resident monitor including SpIDer Guard for Windows-servers and SpIDer Mail® filter. Moreover, a new component has been designed for the Dr.Web Enterprise Suite agent – Dr.Web Enterprise Scanner for remote check of agent machines in the silent mode by an administrator. The remote scan doesn’t significantly increase the system load of an agent machine. The administrator can monitor the scanning progress real-time.
Mobile users haven't been forgotten either. Even if the traveling laptop is disconnected from the anti-virus network for some time, the anti-virus correctly operates on the laptop and receives regular updates.
To install Dr.Web Enterprise Suite you should have:
- local area network based upon the TCP/IP, IPX or NetBIOS protocols (all protected computers and the anti-virus server should be included into this network);
- a computer with processor Pentium III-667 or higher, at least 128 MB RAM (256 MB, if using the inbuilt database), 1 GB free disk space (20 MB for executable files, the rest - for logs and the built-in database), Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP/2003/2008, Linux, Free BSD (up to 7.0), Solaris (x86 and Sparc) operating systems - both 32- and 64-bit;
- to automatically retrieve the content of the centralized installation directory and the updates from the updating server a connection to servers of the Dr.Web global updating system via the Internet should be established for the anti-virus server;
- a computer running Windows, or a computer with Sun JRE version 5.0 Update 1 or higher installed (JRE requirements are applied to a computer in this case);
- TCP/IP protocol connection between the console and the server;
- the anti-virus agent and the anti-virus package require a computer with processor Pentium II-400 or higher, operating memory 32 MB or higher, 128 Mb free disk space or higher (8 MB for executable files, the rest is utilized for logs), Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/Vista (32-bit only).
IMPORTANT!!! To install the anti-virus server for Windows a computer should have MS Installer 2.0. This program is included into Windows 2000 (with SP3) or later. If you are using earlier versions of Windows, you should download and install MS Installer 2.0.
IMPORTANT!!! No other anti-virus software should be installed on workstations of the anti-virus network (other versions of the Dr.Web anti-virus programs including).
The product is licensed per number of workstations connected to Dr.Web Enterprise Suite anti-virus server.
The minimal number of workstations is 5. If several Enterprise Suite servers are to be used, a separate license should be purchased for each server with the specified number of connected workstations.
